eastbound waves of wind arching along the obstruction posed by an old weathered barn rises and dives across clothesline filed with white picket signs of the country variation crisp front porch shade cradles pups granddad's violin playing heard within creaking trees sway lifetime of sailing only the strongest branches withstand a stakes race against the greatest root cellar dweller hidden among us anger and awe reside here together yet peaceful they are, and always kind that thing called, a country state of mind © 2016 Robert Filos |
