Love Sonnet 216

Love Sonnet 216

A Poem by Reyvrex Questor Reyes
"

A love in past lives and time.

"

You loved me many years before we met,
In corridors of past forgotten time,
When many lifetimes proved certain our fate,
As one destined for each other's sweet rhyme;

Events, fateful, has paved each trodden way,
Not just by chance as fools toss in a game,
The hand of Providence led you to me,
That, I perceived the very day you came;

As love endures ordeals that dreams cannot,
When night departs and dreamers could wake up,
The mind recalls nothing that hearts forgot,
Like even wine when empty in the cup;
. . . . But if life holds no chance for us in stow,
. . . . Will you still love like many years ago?

About Goddamn time someone wrote a sonnet. I thought I was lonely here. I haven't seen a sonneteer in three years on this site. Magnificent Shakespearean sonnet. I love the theme of Love, and how the poet wonders if the love will endure the turbulence of time and chance. If you check out my poems, you will find most of them to be Shakespearean sonnets. I just lately started diversifying, but not enjoying it as I enjoyed sonnets. I think I'll go back. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work.
