Love Sonnet 59

Love Sonnet 59

A Poem by Reyvrex Questor Reyes

These banks have raised the lotus I admired,
While landward grow more flowers, riverine,
And beauties of which hunters once aspired,
Those nymphs their hearts have fancied to enshrine;
The river flows like love in rendezvous
With Fate that caps its presaged course downstreams,
The blooms have but oblivion to pursue,
Once left to lie among abandoned dreams;
But mark, my lotus, this could never be,
Though tide may rise and ebb the way it goes,
For soon our hearts will fit an argosy,
To sail the seas to any port we chose;
…..We will discover joys to claim our own,
….In shores that only love has ever known.

You've written so many love poems, yet this one seems to stick out to me most. I don't know. Maybe because it was straight forward. You tailor your words in such an intricate manner. Lovers at sea is the simplest way to describe it. Let us see you more often around here. Take care.
