On the Origin of Stories

On the Origin of Stories

A Poem by Nick Reynolds

Lyrics

"

Stories start from rumors and spread around the world,

Then the sporadic stories arrive at your ear lobe,

It gets into your brain where it’ll finally implode,

Leaving you breathless since the words simply flowed.

The music plays quickly as the seconds tick by,

I look out my window and I just wanna fly,

I see the geese soaring all alone in the sky,

But ill never get up to them so I just wanna die.

The years run past with the song of a bard,

It’s the life I love but it’ll leave you scarred,

Since you don’t make much money life tends to get hard

But you take it in stride cause you’ve got a special ward

It started with a story passed from father to son,

But the bard put the music with the story for fun,

Then it moved to poetry when they added a beat,

Now it’s come to true music that’s only for the elite.
