A Poem by Raven Wilson

You failed to keep me safe from myself.

You promised:

That you would keep me safe.

That I would never cry again.

That he would never touch me again

That he could never touch me again.

You promised me.

You promised:

That you would hold me close.

That I would never want to die again.

That he would never find me.

That he could never find me.

You lied to me.

You lied:

I still want to die.

He found me.

He touched me.

He made me cry.

You lied.

It is all your fault.

You, and your lies.

Much like a spoken word piece, this gives the reader and listener something to think on. The flow works well with the points of momentary pause.

There are so many liars, all around us and within us. Who is to blame?
