Cut Clean

Cut Clean

A Poem by Raven Wilson

And tears turn into water falls as we drag on through the night,

as sights and scenes cut clean the heart that had been torn apart.

And years fly by and you lose yourself 'cause water flows and everyone knows,

your heart was ripped apart.

You keep your heart in a box of blue and black and white,

A reminder of those cold and lonely nights

A collection of hate walled up inside the walls of white.

The bruises that cover your fair skin are a reminder of the sin,

a reminder of him And a reminder of time when all wasn’t fine,

You couldn’t survive, you weren’t alive.

You thought you knew You thought true.

A flower in the walls of blue and black and white

Is better off outside your arms this cold and lonely night.

I enjoyed this poem but the color theme took away from the power of this piece and your meaning. I do not like to discuss layouts of poetry because a wrter uses it to conveys emotions. This layout took away from the content and I had to read it a few times to get the poem because it was big distraction. Good write anyway.
