Have You ever

Have You ever

A Poem by Raven Wilson

Have you ever cried so hard you thought you died inside?

Have you ever cried because the world is so wrong?

Have you ever cried for no reason other than that you had tears?

And have you ever screamed because it felt like you would die if you didn't?

I have...

and I know that every tear that feels liek relief

and every scream that makes you believe in something more

only hurts more

when it all comes crashing again.

That, every little moment comes swinging back to hit you,

the world is the hinges on a swinging door.

The world is out to get you,

to make you cry some more.

And screaming at the door

will only shatter windows,

that will cut you to the core.

...

Have you ever laughed 'cause you realized that you don't care anymore?

I haven't...

'cause even now, I'm screaming at the door

'cause I have cried because the world is so unfair.

Wish i could tell you that it gets easier but for most it doesn't . There will be those who live life with a silver lining but even the tallest of towers falls. These words are well received by this reader. Well done.
