A Poem by Cahjli Symes

I miss you

Do you
miss me?

Stifled by anxiety
Now I can't breathe

If you do
I thought you should know

My heart beats as each trumpet blows

Into the weather
With tears on our sweaters

We ran though the storm
I just want to go home

My fear is you

Hating me

Not even caring
If my mind is complete

So obsolete
Your wounds never showed

But there's a hole in my head,
That was meant for my heart

All this teenage bullshit
I was drowned in the dark.

Drowned in the dark
Drowned in the dark

All the warm memories of us in the park

Drowned in the dark
Drowned in the dark

I deserve every dagger that you twist my heart

Drowned in the dark
Drowned in the dark

My mind was filled with rage and I couldn't stop

Drowned in the dark
Drowned in the dark

After eight years,
I know your warm thoughts have left
And I am to blame.

You were there for me
When I was going insane.
