Birds

A Poem by Cahjli Symes

Can you feel my bones break
In between your fingers
Cracking up, cause that's the sound
that lovers make?

Can you take?
Oh can you feel my warm skin
Pressing on your soft palms?
Waiting for an answer I'll get wrong?

I'm blue, now stay strong.
That's the snapping of my windpipe
Along your kiss of sorrow
Oh for tomorrow, can you just wait until
my lungs sink?

Or shall I choke upon the ink
That's been written by a pen
That was ruined by your hand
The same hand that broke the bones
that once loved thee.

You just killed me.

LOL - I'm assuming you wrote this with tongue-in-cheek since it's posted in the silly kids section. I really enjoyed your cynicism - that's my kind of love poem.

Strong and powerful statement. My kind of poetry. No wasted words. Words can create war, pleasure and good places. Can't kill directly.
"Or shall I choke upon the ink
That's been written by a pen
That was ruined by your hand
The same hand that broke the bones
that once loved thee. "
I liked the above lines. I create create a complete poem from the honestly and thoughts in the statement. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
