As money and

They fill us

Veils over eyes

Author's Note

I was reading the news online and thinking about how fucked up things are getting in terms of laws, law enforcement practices and how this generation is being dumb down in order to be subject to being submissive to unjust acts that go on every single day in front of us yet we do nothing either out of fear or ones own ignorance.

I couldn't help but agree with you more with each line I read! Society today is surely getting out of hand and it feels like we the civilians are the targets or guinea pigs. It's sick how the government is running us now and how they fail to pay attention to so many things today: disasters, crime, etc. we shouldn't be allowed to live here if our world around us is crumbling...shouldn't we be taken out of harms way?

The poem is beautifully written and shows nowadays society for what you call 'This nightmare'. I totally agree on your view of youth, the new generations seem to ignore what is surrounding them and is easily manipulated by the media.
