The Doll

The Doll

A Poem by Seven Eves
"

You can't undo what you've already done.

"

The doll tilted its head at a perfect 90 degree angle.

So did I.

The doll blinked its eyes three times in wonder.

So did I.

The doll laughed mechanically and smiled.

So did I.

The doll sat up and stared.

So did I.

The doll’s happiness went away as if it was never there.

So did mine.

The doll ran out of battery life and died.

I wished that I could do that too.

But I already had.
