Bedazzled by their beauty

Engaged in their gaze

Waiting to be caressed

As you go by them one by one

Telling you how love is confessed

 

In a room full of roses

You find the particular joy

Of love and heartbreak

Transforming you into a boy

 

As you hear the whispers

As you hear the wails

Your senses tingle

And your judgment fails

 

When you find the fairest rose

The one in all the land

You realize that rose is unattainable

And belongs to someone else’s hand.
