No One is an Exception

No One is an Exception

A Poem by Penny Ellen
"

WWP, here's another. I am enjoying the serious prompts. I like the non-serious ones, but they are proving to be time-consuming to make my own. ;)

"
That's what you get when you follow your heart:

Realization
that being human carries with it
a certain amount of
conformity.
You will always be bound to
want,
deep down,
what everyone else wants:
because a home is worthless without someone to share it with,
and the want for kids is biologically programmed into us all.

Clarity
of how we become how we become,
stubborn, narrow-minded,
writers-block'd,
imagination-retarded,
simplified.

Fear
That you will wind up
alone
and your life will remain
worthless
and that your heart will be
nothing
more than scar tissue
by the time you

realize
just how
clear
it is that your
fear
has won.
