Imprisoned with hopeA Poem by TheSkyWritesHerNameOne soul yearns redemption, Meanwhile the other screams & accuses deception. Her body draws pity from the crowds at witness, He convinces them she suffers from a mental sickness. The symptoms are that of a broken heart Shattered pieces shape together perfectly As a classic & priceless piece of art All that rests on her mind is the merciful love she once knew, One more heaven kiss blue, Only one more shake of an awakened dream, Just one more drink of her love-blossomed fantasy stream. The one that now runs with poisoned regret & grief She attempts to water it with tasteless tears but there is no relief. Looking up to the sky, She faints in exhaustion from praying for her true lover set free. Quietly she whispers, please let it be That you return him back to me. Distract this weeping child, Whose smile has been forgotten, And whose fruits have longed been rotten. Bring sweetness to her lips & thickness to her bones. In complete darkness, she strays alone. She bleeds herself dry, Two tearful eyes, One stolen heart, Two lovers drifted apart, One fallen sky with a barbarous & unnecessary, hurtful goodbye. Did he deceive? Did a lie descend off his mouth? To put her worth & love for him in doubt When she made him the mortal kings of kings, Cherishing a broken promise ring. Why did he not give a backward glance? Anything she would do for a second chance. She is torn, worn numb; Burning under the sunlight waiting for him to return back To the times that may come… …she continues to wait… © 2011 TheSkyWritesHerNameAuthor's Note
