God, do you hear me?A Poem by TheSkyWritesHerNameMy knuckles turn white from clasping the Bible God, can you hear me? Can you turn my heart of stone into ashes? Douse my blood thick as molasses Lord, can you see me? Am I too bare for bearing tides? A nameless pesticide I weep in drying waters Alone; ever alone I whimper, I speak, I yelp Flare in hand, arrives no help Lord, do you see me? A rose dying in September Am I worthy of remembrance? My face is pale; hands numb One sinner pleading for your love God, can you hear me? Even my voice has deserted me My ears strain for your lullaby Eyes bleeding to see a blue-sky Lord, can you answer me? Sun sleeps and awakes Alone; every alone I wait © 2011 TheSkyWritesHerNameAuthor's Note
