Expiration DateA Poem by Reneé HA villainelle about the shortcomings of real life fairytales.
Fairytales have an expiration date
Something Cinderella never said Reality always comes too late. Tears stream down and it's too late Before you crawl alone into your bed And see, fairytales have an expiration date. Lured by a fisherman, a smile as his bait On false pretenses you were surely led Reality always come too late. Push and shove, but the winner is fate Heart beating as if it's dead All fairytales have an expiration date. Gave him everything and that's just great But he walked away instead Reality always comes too late. Began with a smile, ended with hate And regret- should've used your head Fairytale had an expiration date, Reality came too late.
