green tomato driveby.

green tomato driveby.

A Poem by renea hanna.
"

a true story with true remorse and real fried green tomatoes.

"

he's a hellbent demon
running reckless at breakneck speeds
catching rogue dogs in the violent spinning of his tires

but he has a heart for them every time

yes, he has a heart for them every time and it breaks a little bit
when they die from his run

so we'll feed him fried green tomatoes and tell him
it's okay, all dogs must die someday
and what better way than chasing a mean beast metal machine
growling by on its way to town
what better way than barking at death with a breath of rebelliousness

all dogs must die someday
and you're gonna run them over in that life-affirming moment
when four-legged mammal takes on man in machine

it's not mean grandpa, it's not mean and you didn't mean it

have another green tomato and we'll forget about it.
