Silence Eternal

Silence Eternal

A Poem by Renata

I would ask you
if you could hear
if you WOULD hear

whose tears
water this earthen mound
beneath which you sleep
in eternal slumber?

for they belong
not to I
a vessel of drought
sunken by affection
gone dry,
or the long passed dew
squandered before
a midday sun sky

yet in death
as in life
you offer me nothing
but head stoned silence

and the endless torture
of your secrets
that you wear
like a cloak
cocooning you forever
in your grave.
