The Malicious Visitor

The Malicious Visitor

A Poem by REMIGIUS SUNDAY EZE
"

An elegy I wrote for my mentor, Engr. Dr. Fidelis Egoeze

"
DEATH, THE MALICIOUS VISITOR

The News of your Demise
Poured into my Eardrum
On 5th october,2016
Like lava from crater nd magma
Constituting malign bruise nd burn
To my fragile olfactory lobe

Onyeisi , why did u surrender?
You were compelled against your wish
To drink laudanum of death
By the malicious visitor, I know.

You are not to blame
You would have perfectly loved
To stay hale nd hearty for us
But death, the malicious visitor,
The harbinger of sorrow and agonies ,
Stroke nd stabbed you unwittingly

As you travel the world beyond
Forget not to say me hi
To my beloved Mum and Dad
And to all our people over there

Farewell, onye isi!
Farewell, brother Fidelis!
Farewell Engr .Dr. Egoeze!
We love you so much,
But God loves you more.
