REBEL ANGELSA Poem by REMIGIUS SUNDAY EZEfallen AngelsREBEL ANGELS
(A poem adapted from John Milton’s paradise lost) The echoes of the first grave fall: Down like shooting stars Down like Jericho walls Bang, crag and crack Down like lifeless stone Down like iroko trees Kpo! Kakaraka gbim Down like 11th September plane and Tower
Down for the Almighty sin of pride Down for fear, arrogance and envy To ado and honour the son Whom ‘ll be greate than all in all.
Down from lively abode of God Into the world of prediction Where darkness illumine And hums day and night
Down and wounded all over Down to bottomless perdiction There to dwell in adamantine chain And penal fire. Down to a place Billions far from Jah’s abode
Oh, what a deserved wrath upon them! The infidels or rebel angels, Whom were bright and handsome in heaven, Before the mighty swoop on earth. The fall that cost them the grace, Of light and brightness
Lo, the minds of un repented sinners. We can’t do him harm, But something must be done to hurt him. Yes, we must revenge our hurt. He must be hurt too. To do good will never be our portion, But ever to corrupt God’s progeny. Yes, our labor must be to prevent that end And out of good still to find means of evil.
Come, let’s scatter in two, To corrupt minds, and thwart God’s plan Killing and setting fire of chaos, Making life miserable and impossible, To the poor children of Eve.
Friends, for the irreparable fallen Never would we reconcile with Him. Rather his heart would always be in anguish For we shouldn’t relent in offending Him.
Here we come, the poor people of earth. Traps and weapons in hands To catch, torture and kill the weak, Whose belief in Jah’s baseless and low. Run if you think you have legs Fly if you think you have wings Swim away if you think you have fins Remember, you can run. But you can never hide Meet you, when we come!
