A Poem by Mariah

Let me sink into nothingness

Let me float above the atmosphere

Hearts are breaking

And bones are aching

And salt from the ocean only prolongs the pain

Tether me

To a plastic tree

And tell me it’s a walk through nature

Just let me sink into nothingness

Let me float above the atmosphere

I’ll stick around

Like I belong

Until the universe absorbs me into her

Do you want a pleasant lie

Or do you want the truth?

Do you want a happy world

Or a beautiful universe?

Rose petals drooping

You just watered too long

You just loved too hard

So come with me

Sink into nothingness

I’ll let you float above the atmosphere

With me

Together,

The universe will absorb us into her

Keep me stranded

With everything I need

Or let me go

With my heart to guide me

Just free me

I slowly emerge from my cocoon

Slowly release

Your wilted roses

Throw the petals to the sky

Let them float to the ground

And we’ll float above the atmosphere

 Let us sink into nothingness…

Release

Release

Sweet sweet release.
