ReflectionA Poem by MariahLook In The Mirror, And If You Can Look Into Your Own Eyes, You Are On The Right Track.Everytime I come upon this reflection I cannot help but to wonder If it really belongs to me
Each day it looks a little differently Maybe I'm just beginning to see A little bit more of me
While I remain clueless My reflection gazes back all too knowingly
Two eerie windows to the soul Moss-covered stones The kind that are shrouded in mystery Are they the kind to lead me to civilization? To a path I have never known?
Little pink lines that quiver just so Itching to break their innocent mold So rebellious they seem As they expose the truth About their owner
A million imprints Thrown across a makeshift canvas Like castoffs from a palette The wrong shade; The wrong consistency; They vibrate in place Molecules of memories All the ones I can't recall
Tell me I'm more than a rippling shadow But float me in calm waters Show me something more beautiful than the refraction of light But don't break the surface quite yet
Everytime I come upon this reflection I cannot deny That it is my own.
