"

Echo, oh Echo,

Not one known for speaking slow

Talk talk

   Blah blah

There the young nymph's mouth goes

Though she was somewhat loud,

She was not the worst

But Hera, jealous and impatient

Gave Echo an unforgiving curse.

Now Echo could not speak for herself

Doomed to repeat the words of everyone else

So she must adjust to her life just as things are

But her situation became dire- she fell in love with a god!

Narcissus, oh Narcissus,

The self-absorbed youth,

Shunned poor Echo,

Broke her heart,

That's the truth

Watching from above, Aphrodite couldn't stand to let this go,

Narcissus deserved to feel the same misery and woe

So she put upon him a curse that would expose his true colors

As Narcissus looked into his reflection he saw his one and only

True lover.
