Your Book

Your Book

A Poem by Mariah

 Uncap your pen

Sharpen the pencils

Open your mind

Unless you prefer life to be stenciled

Brainstorm your hopes

Draft out your dreams

Start writing your story

No matter how far-fetched it seems

Comprehend the way you want life to be

Revise what’s coming next

Tweak this sentence, alter that moment

And ultimately live out your text

Don’t leave your book unwritten

Write until the ink runs out

Don’t leave a paragraph incomplete

Tell the world what your life was about

 Finish the last chapter

Down to the very last page

While people are forgotten

Words just never fade...
