When The Mind Finally Wanders

When The Mind Finally Wanders

A Poem by Mariah

Sometimes I wonder

If there’s more to life

More sound than the thunder

More bliss to be had

Than just “husband and wife”

More than this one

“superior being”

Too much happiness

Don’t pretend the pain isn’t there

Where is the madness?

What happened to living to care?

Tears and laughter

Just the hallway in front of the door

Love and Despise

Peace and War

Always a mother asleep

As a child awakes

Always a car on the road

Always a plane in the sky

Not a moment of unity

Constantly moving

We’re spinning too fast

No one stops and considers for a moment

What we could be doing here.

                When the mind finally wanders.

I really liked this peice. Besides a few places where punctuation was needed, it was well put together. Keep it up.
