Open Book

Open Book

A Poem by Mariah

Always surrounded by people

Alone with only my thoughts

Until they too break free-

They escape from my mind

Butterflies from cocoons

From the hushed solitude within

That is all they know

They turn against me and unite

To form an audible message of their own

Once free the damage is done-

And now the world can read me

Like an open book.
