Hiding

Hiding

A Poem by Mariah

Sometimes I want to slip

Beneath the ocean

Beneath the salty blue waves

So I can be invisible and

 alone.

So I can scream and shout

To the world

All that burdens me.

And I want the water to envelop

and protect me

From all the sadness and the hate

That we try to ignore every day.

I want to hear nothing

Above or below me.

Not the cries for help

Nor the yells of rage.

I want time to stand still for a moment

And fix everything

That the world has really screwed up.

Sometimes I want to slip

Beneath the ocean

Beneath the salty blue waves.
