Trial and Error

Trial and Error

A Poem by Levi Alexander Mead

I’m wincing

Perched on my thigh

I bruised it with the gavel

I joined the marching band

In a wheelchair

Remember rolling down the hills

With hair like rainclouds

Curtaining the blue

Brown was a reasonable amount of contrast

BOOM BOOM BOOM

I should have stood out

One of these things just doesn’t…

These hands are evidence

Faceless figures, silhouettes like

Solitary cells sallow and still

Except for the timorous tick tock

Intangible and present only in thought

Flickering to the beat

Knocking on wood

Author's Note

Levi Alexander Mead
Clearly this isn't the most straightforward poem ever but is it at all effective? Does it at least have an emotional impact?

This was quite a heavy write. It certainly had an impact. Keep it up!
