Moments

Moments

A Poem by Chase

There are moments where my heart grows heavy and my hands become weak
when I can't even seem to be able to breathe
 I can't think without you, I can't function, I can't sleep.
I can't think of a moment where I wouldn't want you to be
laying next to me, our hearts beating in perfect harmony
as the days get short and the nights get colder.
All I want for us is to grow older, together, forever, or forever and a day.
I never seem to think that I made a mistake
being with you, being here today.
Miles apart, and yet, I stay.
There are moments when I miss you.
My body is aching, just dying to kiss you
and to hear your voice say "We made it"
and see you grin from ear to ear.
There are moments when all of your words echo in my bones
the way you say "I love you"
I can never let it go.
And I know that you are out there
and one day we'll have a home.
But until that day, there are moments
and I will never let them go.
