redundance

redundance

A Poem by reilly ann conway
"

inspired by robert frost's "reluctance"

"

Out through the woods and the worlds I have wandered

Traveled and triumphed; my body suspended

Here again, for now, in search of serenity

Trying not to trip before my journey's ended.

Harvest moon led me to this place in time

Faith has kept me walking

Circling seasons, various reasons

Deaf ears have kept me talking.

Sometimes my mind's a happier place

When body and spirit seem broken

Some surroundings, once safe, become prisons

Beyond escape. Take that as a token.

My heart cries out for my daughter

My angel wings aren't quite ready

Here and now I want nothing more

Than to hold her and be steady.

Really feeling the arduous journey of life here-- and the feeling of longing stands out as well. The rhymes move this along at an enjoyable pace. All around nice write. I like the reference to Frost-- always nice to tip your hat to other poets every once in while.
