corporate culture 101

corporate culture 101

A Poem by reilly ann conway

Two companies with
similar business interests
and compatible portfolios
decided to merge assets,
pool labor
:advent of the
modern
family.
Mommy taught
her little girl to
speak in slogans.
Take pop culture snatches
and quilt them
patchwork
style into
language.
Catch phrases are very easy to consume.
Don’t you want to be a pretty product?
(brains built on coils of cliches
tightly wound around a
spindle of
smoke)
Daddy taught
his little girl
to f**k her neighbor,
look out for number
one.  Always dress for
success.
There’s a lot of hungry people out there
who wanna hear
what they wanna hear.
Now be a good girl and go tell them.
Is your presence enough reassurance that all is well in the corporate world?
Is it more or less of a
farce if you disarm it?
Does the act of
deconstruction void
itself?  How
do you speak to the
deaf
don’t sign.
TV taught its
little girl that murders
often happen during dinner,
and she needs a
new toy every
ten minutes.  She can
never
have
enough.
It’s not easy
to consume.
It’s
too easy
to consume.
