Clarity in the Depths

Clarity in the Depths

A Poem by Regina Ranieri
"

From my writing perspective "it" is my heart that was once very strong until it was tortured to the point I thought it was irreparable. Then within a beautiful being I see hope in my near future.

"
It crept back to its mournful, idle cave
Within the rampart of my hollow chest
Oppressed and shattered to a covert grave
From ceaseless confrontations of life's tests

The knobs of this oiled machine now dull
I contemplate until prudence is lost
My brooding halts, sending my wits to lull
And finally all sanity is tossed

But then I found rapture within his grasp
He lured me down into the sea of him
Now drowned with infatuation I bask
He helps me float so I don't have to swim

So as long as his eyes brings clarity
I hope to see no sign of brevity

About
Writing appeals to me due to the fluidity of the words within a piece and how it can emphasize a way you're feeling to the reader, but at the same time the reader can interpret the piece of literature.. more..
