Faded Jean

Faded Jean

A Poem by Regina K. Pride

You're a kind of faded jean to me
so overused, so overwhelmed
I touch your seams and they just slip away
under my hand you grow softer
almost a flimsy structure
I miss how you used to feel when you were sturdy
you're so discolored
so used one day, thrown out the next
and when you're gone I won't miss you
won't even think about you
isn't it sad how it goes?
