Insomniac
by Regina K. Pride can't you taste the blood of the pen ink leaking onto your skin a death you die a price you pay when night reaper comes to collect your soul you say you got time to wait, wait up but you have no time at all when the lightning strikes the same ground twice and screams heard all through the night you say I'm not scared, I'm not scared of the dark can't you see pride goes before the fall. can't you taste the blood of the pen impaled by the pen because of the fall a price you pay a death you die when night reaper comes to collect your soul you say you've got no time fore insecurities but your hands shake before you speak when after shock's unsettling and quakes your ground again you say I'm not scared, I'm not scared of tomorrow can't you see pride goes before the fall. can't you taste the blood of the pen
all things inviting you in or leaving you down slowly a death you die a price you pay when night reaper comes to collect your soul you say you don't want to be alone but you're lonely anyway when the dance floor underneath you is sinking sand and your feet now want to move you say I'm not scared, I'm not scared of the gun can't you see pride comes before the fall. © 2014 Regina K.
