In the Sky

In the Sky

A Poem by Regina K. Pride
"

Just a classic case of extreme cloud watching.

In the Sky
by Regina K. Pride

He’s holding her waist,
touching her skin,
kissing her face
beside the radiant Sun.

They speak their own language.
His fingers trail her collar bone;
she presses her cheek against his;
they feel a wholeness inside.

They dance without music;
they float on by cloud.

We on the ground,
watch  as soon as we get  the chance
to look up.

We follow them like the north star
before they're between the trees
caught up in the branches.

They emerge after dawn,
one.

They glisten like something we've never seen before;
brighter than the sun itself,
they're the brightest twinkling star.
