Sitting by the SeaA Poem by Rees ThomasIt's been a while. Heres a little drabI sit by this glorious grey ocean in all petite my legs crossed mind motioned at peace with great dharma watching the thick grey clouds in the distance roll across the mountains and the waves of the sea smash against stone i sit here here alone by the ocean as our cities burn and all our good men die shameful and misunderstood as war breaks out in syria as rocks fall into the earth and beautiful green is cut as hearts are broken and love beckons as men kill or be killed as the earth quakes and teeth rattle as gasoline feels the air and women are beaten children too glorious -original-cliche-predictable-unpredictable as life is for the space between our lives must be filled with joyousness from all or as much branches and fallen leafs that from pain and disaster to make men of us to wither us wise-till solitude or to turn us cold and lonely playing out our lives until we hither too dark submission so... let the w****s be w***e and killers-kill let the preachers-preach the rich-be rich and the cheats-cheat the liars-lie the sad-be saddest and the beautiful-be beautiful as we are all damned by fate and the jaws of hell-fire on and the heavens pour in drabs and drabs and more drabs small victory for us all… like i said all are good men die or be killed and all are good women turn to scorn-by wicked unfaithful men or become rotten by time and patience and unfulfillment but all is in love and peace yet fear is the stronger of the two the world cries out another thunderclap weep yet i sit here in peace by this great ancient grey ocean © 2013 Rees ThomasAuthor's Note
