"Trust"

"Trust"

A Poem by Reesa

I call them by name,
they quickly come.
Whoever said,
chickens are dumb?

As I sit on my porch,
one jumps in my lap.
As I pet her head,
she takes a nap.

Excited by her Trust,
it's hard to believe,
how much this chicken,
chooses to trust me.

I wanna be like my chickens,
quickly come when God calls.
To sit upon my father's lap,
and take a rest from it all.

I wanna be like my chicken,
to trust with my eyes closed.
Knowing the one who loves me,
Smiles Softly as I doze.
