"A Broken Window"

"A Broken Window"

A Poem by Reesa

Looking through a broken window,
Through a distorted view.
Holding fast to all observed,
to all I know is true.

Peering through a broken glass,
it's truly hard to see.
All the beauty just outside,
that patiently waits for me.

When your vision gets distorted,
your perspective isn't clear.
Pain can crack your hopes
and fill your life with fear.

Dark shadows can warp your thinking,
eventually all you believe.
For it seems a broken window,
effects all you perceive.

Yet all is never hopeless,
God has made a way.
He opens broken windows,
and hears us as we pray.

Hope can rise in a moment,
our vision can be restored.
Pain and fear can vanish,
as we trust in the Lord.

So pick up your broken pieces,
this isn't the end of your rope.
Cast away the darkness,
and grab each ray of hope.

No all is never hopeless,
you're not forever lost.
For God has opened a window,
and Jesus has paid the cost.

This was beautiful. I love the transition from a melancholy tone to one of hope and reassurance. I almost teared up a bit reading it, because it reminds me of things I went through in my past and when I needed something uplifting. I think this is a wonderful poem, and it is one I will be delighted to go back to during difficult times. Thank you for you message of hope, and just know that your words impact whoever lays eyes on them.
