Waist Deep

Waist Deep

A Poem by Cheef Rockah

I walk in the midst of darkness

Soon to find out I get the death kiss

I try to run to safer grounds

But on my back is 1,000 pounds

Full of pain & guilt

This s**t hurt mo den a lactose wit milk

How can I escape such pain

Run, run, run to the paradise plain

Where there I can only gain

The knowledge to walk out the rain

And walk to the paradise grain

But now I stare death in the face

As he points his finga

Den POW pulls the trigga

I lay in my case

It's dark and gloomy

I know this can't be the end of me

Nah, 'cause he only tryin' to scare me

'Cause death wanna take my soul to keep

But just wait n***a I'm only waist deep

I'm still up high

High to where I can touch the sky

Just please with your powers

Keep me here for a few mo hours

Fo I know I'll survive

C'mon man just gimme 5...

Minutes so I can stay alive

To keep my baby in my arms

To you dis an alarm

Fo how can a n***a like me

Be filled with so much pride ya see

I'm in love

With somethin' mo wonderful den a dove

Just lemme keep ma soul

And if not I'll dig ma own hole

But right now ma soul is mines to keep

Fo ma a*s is only waist deep

Please lemme get just a peep

C'mon man damn!

I'm only waist deep
