I have never quite understood

how you truly can’t feel

came rushing through

I care about you so much

it hurts

it slowly chipped away

and broke 

each piece of my heart

the ones that were given to you

the damaged but patched

each memory of 

you and me

I hate to think are in the past

yet I still want to believe

still want to hope

I want to feel you

feel your lips 

your eyes

penetrate my being 

I will strive

I will adjust 

I won’t give up

One day you will forgive me

I will make you want to trust

to let in
