I'm Done Waiting

I'm Done Waiting

A Poem by A

waiting, waiting for something more, something to save me

save whats left

someone

something

waiting

I’m done

with you

with him

with her

with all of those I have waited for

I’m done stopping

sitting

hoping

that the ring will be theirs

waiting for them to show up

and be there

I’m done dreaming and wishing

I’m ready

for me

to find who that is

I’m done waiting to find a home

done waiting for something big

something to swoop in and discover what I once thought was me

I’m beginning

this is the end of waiting

the beginning of my life

my discovery

where I no longer wait

I do

I am

I’m ready

Being a casual observer of our own lives, with very little input into events that determine our course, our happiness, or success, is akin to floating on a raft, oarless, rudderless, only hoping for a change in current to take us where we want to go.
Reasserting oneself...a critical first step to contentment.
Nice thoughts in your poem.
