Lost on a Roller Coaster

Lost on a Roller Coaster

A Poem by A

Lost on a roller coaster

the ups and downs

through

and

through

each day

I’m lost

searching

the maps have been destroyed

the directions are forgotten

lost

in all ways

of thought

of being

those around me

quick to be

something they are

something they pretend each day makes them happy

stuck in a rut

each day

routine

caught in

when really

we are all lost on the roller coaster

just hoping the next turn will be our stop

our chance for change

for our moment to being

our lives to begin actually meaning

to dwell in being

deep within ourselves

knowing we are found

yet we are still lost

on our ways to be

something greater

something beyond

our minds

our bodies

our souls

in search of the gold at the end of God’s promise

still on the ride

barely hanging on

becoming unaware of what surrounds us

following the same path

nothing

ordinary

every day

beginning to know what to expect

the plans have follow through

expectant of what each day shall be like

some happy in this life style

others can barely stand another breath

His promises seeming empty

the more and more

I search the skies

praying for a rain in this drought we have become less and less aware of

lost

once on this coaster

waiting

waiting

patience

once more

my thoughts

are here

are there

curiosity overflows

seeping through my pores

to find

earning

to be found

un lost?

in another world

another time

new

away from the regular

from the normalcy of each person walking on the same path day after day

time after time

they will be there

you become to accept

what you feel you cannot change

lost

I’m someone

unrecognizable

my eyes

lost

search

through and through

a mirror

cliche of losing oneself only to be found in ones reflection

but what if you have

never

known or seen oneself

bringing oneself to the original question of existance

Who are you? Who am I?

does it mean

knowing joy

finding love

sharing experiences

jumping from a cliff

or following the path, accepting the society given to you

How do you know when the search if over

Will you have finally reached the serenity and peace promised

the game of monopoly, unending, the game of life

Lost

Thoughts swarm once more

yet these may be calm

allowing the turmoil to begin to set

Maybe I don’t exist

I may be here in physical

but spiritually, mentally, emotionally

where the hell have I gone to?

Lost

on this roller coaster

through what is called L.I.F.E.

each day

wondering why and even if

all this searching

losing oneself

never having the chance to obtain

all for nothing

all is lost

still up and down

never will it end

lose your hope

letting go

think think

what do you even have that is worth taking another breath?

what is worth losing?

worth gaining?

you.
