The Nature of Your Roots

The Nature of Your Roots

A Poem by A

Uproot me

wrap me around

take my bark

and strip me

take take

until I’m bare

naked

in front of you

helpless

satisfied

with piles of love

hearts

broken and at the beginning stages of mended

overflowing in your arms

no hope

wait

until you spot the next one

strip her too

the love is now lifeless

your touch has it broken, cold, empty

yet you still take

hoping one will remain alive

to feed your addiction

to feed your habit

the habit of tearing apart

leaving lifeless beings

scattered around

ready for you next victim?
