What is Love?

What is Love?

A Poem by A

Love is beauty.

Love is radiant.

It shines from within

What is within?

Your every thought

Your every wish

Your every hope

Your every dream

Love gives you power.

It can give you power over someone, or make you powerless.

It can cause pain, but can lift you out of the darkest moments.

Light and Love reflect upon us all.

Love is trust.

Love can be between a family, a couple, or a stranger.

Love means you can’t do it alone.

Surrender to others

Surrender to yourself

You don’t choose who you fall in love with

Forced love is not true

A fantasy brought into reality that can be destroyed is not true

Maybe in a moment, love can be, but love is also holding out, waiting

Love is patience

Love is uncontrollable.

You can feel love

You can receive love

Most important: You can give love

Love cannot be described in words

Writers, Poets, seek to find the true meaning, the complete definition of love, but have failed

Love no words, can be seen?

Love is the closest thing we have to magic.

There are ultimate loves.

Soul mates, Forevermore

Destiny can be love, but not to be decided by someone other then Him

He chooses, we believe we choose

Do we?

Love can be seen through embraces

So in that sense

Love can be felt in a gift or received

Love is an emotion

Still never controlled

Love can be weakness and strength

Love is the beginning of everything

Love can sometimes be the end

You can observe love

When you see a father hold his newborn

Or

Two sisters dancing in the rain

In that love it is “natural” and expected

Whereas with a stranger

Love flows naturally always, but is not expected

Respect is expected

Dignity is expected

Love is not

Love can come through respect and dignity

Relation by blood allows a deep love within

Relation with skin, is surface, and the most common

Relation with soul, spirit, and heart, is rare, it is the deepest and most sought after

Love can be within

Love can be with another

Love cannot be without

A love where you would let go for the other’s safety, or for another’s choice

Love is accepting that time is inevitable.

Within time comes change.

Change creates love as well.

Love is following someone to the edge of the universe.

Knowing you will never let go.

And through change you will grow by falling more in love.

Why is love described as “falling into”

Does it happen out of thin air

Believing and Dreaming creates Love

Hopes and Wishes tend to it

As it can be seen, felt, and heard

Love is the root of everything

Any existence, person, place, or thing, is Love.

God made us each with love

Humans make others with love

Even in that it’s not always true

Sex is often mistaken for love

Body on Body is surface

Surface is not deep or true

It’s simply infatuation

Love can be an act, but is different from “making love”

Love comes from passion that is true.

Passion comes from happiness

Happiness with another, or with thyself is a creator of love

Love is an indulgement

Could it be possible that one can go through a lifetime and never really know love?

Sad as it may seem, I believe it to be.

The rarest and deepest love is not seen, is not felt, it is simply there in every action, every word, but is the root not the surface.

Love can be sparks, but believing in that only can lead to be mistaken for love and infatuation.

In that, I am still confused.

Love is not looking into each other’s eyes, but looking out unto the world, unto what makes them happy.

Laughter comes from love. Joy comes from love.

Memories come from love.

Love creates everything.

Love can be found in a moment

Built in a day

Nurtured in a week

True in a month

Forever in a year

But lost in an instant

Why is something that is everything lost so easily?

Love can exist with one person loving another who does love them in return

But that kind of love does not last

Because love needs to be nurtured by two people, unless it’s a “within” love

“Falling in love” is like rain

It hits you when you least expect it, but can be gone as soon as the sun comes out if not held onto

Love can be held onto within a distance, within years of time

Love can never be forgotten

Love will always make you wonder

If you had it, If you have it, Or If you ever will.

Love is paint on a canvas

It is art from the moment the paintbrush touches the white

Even if the paint color is white on white

Love can be invisible

It can make you blind

Love can also awaken you.

Love is a final dance that never ends, making it a beginning of something new.
