The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life

A Poem by A

The stream and rain of tears

The few left

The ones to spare

The last of them

Cascade down

Breaking the dam

Just barely making it through

Dried up

Raw

Harsh

A tree

Beauty

Beast

Broken cut

Deep within

Each layer shattered away

The structure

Branch

By

Branch

Is closing in

No reason to stand tall

                              To wait for the wind

I’m hollow

Time to fall

Deep down

My roots give way

                              Here I go

All soul

All heart

All gone
