Millions of Miles Away...

Millions of Miles Away...

A Poem by A

 Missing those summer nights…

You were a phone call away

Meeting for a late night ride

around town

Passing all the stores fast asleep

The roller coaster at a stand still

The boys in their cars slowing down as they pass the bars

The stars lighting up each corner of the sky

As the moon takes over

We make our way to the dock

As we slip into the beautiful blue embraces of the lake

Laughing and splashing

We lie on our backs on the wooden dock

Talking of the future

Speaking of randomness

At that moment seeming so important

Running up the stairs

Leaving our shoes on the dock

Dancing through the tree covered streets

Only slivers of heaven seeping through

Resting for a moment

Lying in the middle of the road

These nights

Seemed so familiar

You get used to them

Never thoughts in your mind

Of the future

When

All this ….

Is millions of miles away…

When in the moment we tend to not realize what we have till it disappears, then one day you look back and wish you could got back in time... this is really wonderful in form and expression... very melancholy and bittersweet emotions. The detailed descriptions of events is what gives this the added punch.
