Summer Love

Summer Love

A Poem by A

Summer Love....

Anticipation arised in my heart....

When he pulled up in that old green truck I got in hoping we would never part

That warm summer night was full of our luck
His coffee brown eyes melted the skies
At that moment, he had me from “hello”
I knew now we could never say our good-byes
You were mine from the start, you are my fellow
We drove away… mind set… never coming back
Our fingers interlocked… hearts connected
I knew now that my heart would never lack
Not looking back my heart felt protected
We were united in each other’s hearts
One for one and finally one for all
Made up of different layers and parts
Not wanting the real truth to make us fall
Thoughts ran through my mind in a total bliss
Looking at each other we gave a kiss

Love starts out simple. You captured this beginning nicely.
