The Price Of A MemoryA Poem by AWhat
if I could pay to forget you? How
much would I pay? What
would I want to forget? Everything Your
face Your
hands Your
lips The
way you Snake
your way Into
each moment Even
the moments I’m
with someone else The
worst is showering Letting
someone else’s lips and hands take hold of my body I
hate how Much
I try to forget Or
move forward Yours
is the only one, the only times I
ever vividly Remember The
way your lips Possess Own,
take over Mine Your
hands Claiming
What
I for the first time Gave
away No
forgetting this You
have a way Of
taking my breath away But
at the same time Making
me feel more replenished more alive than ever I believed natural The
way Your
name can be heard Or
Can
be seen Everything
stops When
I see The
blue sky The
lake during the day That
reminds me of your eyes Each
raindrop reminds me of the tears I cry Of
joy Of
sadness Of
longing Of
forgetting When
I smell That
smell A
whiff I
am transported back to the Moments You
took over me Why
you ask would I want to forget you? Because
you have so easily Forgotten
me Do
you ever fall asleep Thinking of my lips? Or
wake in the Middle
of the night Calling
my name Do
you ever take a Shower
and feel so alone? How
much did you pay to forget? Or
was it really that easy And
free? How
much would I pay to forget? I
have already Given
away my heart Piece By Piece Why
don’t you set The
price at Nothing
less Than
my soul © 2013 AReviews
