A story of her

A story of her

A Poem by A

When you can

Learn

And

Than teach

How to

Put on a show

Be the life

For the night

For the summer

For the boys

Anyone willing to be an audience

Of attention

Reassurement

You can

Begin to lose

Yourself

Doubting

What or who

They truly like

If the clothes

Are covering

All of me

Or

Scratch that

If I’m bare

All my scars

All my once bruises

All my imperfections

The light

Shining

As if to illuminate

The fraud

I know

I once was

The girl

That dreamed

Of being

Captured

Loved

Stolen away

Someone to save her

From her past

And from

Her scariest

Part

Her deepest

Regret

Save her

From herself

The one

She can’t look

Into the mirror

Look into the eye

Capturing a moment

Behind the lens

Hoping to find

Or discover

Herself

Only to get

False

And

Surface

Comments

And

Praise

Of what

She

Doesn’t

Believe

Even

Exists

The

Darkest

Thought

That

Her brokenness

Will finally

Scare

And cut

All the once

Praisers

And

One-night suitors

Away

Send them

Running

From the

Once

Fun

The once

Dirty and addicted

The once

One that would give all

For a night

For a kiss

For a drink

For a sign of approval

Or praise

For any sense

Of contact

Human addiction

She suffers

Daily

For intimacy

For anything

She can see as

“Good”

Know as

“Real”

Another word in her story

Another name on her list

That will be me

Finally out of kisses

Out of laughs

To numb to touch

To broken and scarred to be touched

Something to be discarded

Waiting

For the sun

To cause

Her

To

Crumble and melt

Into

Nothing

Something the water

Won’t even touch

The vultures

Will laugh

The God

Will close the door

No more

Left

Done

Sent to be alone

Deserted

Bare and broken

All

That’s left

Nothing

To give

No one

Only me

I’m her

That

Will

Be me.

It's heart wrenching yet so beautiful.....there are few mistakes...other than that it's amazing....it made me so sad till I reached the ending.....loved it!!!
