Searching (Daddy, where are you?)

Searching (Daddy, where are you?)

A Poem by A

“you cant go searching

hoping

dreaming

yearning

for your dad”

in men

old

young

no one can be

what he never was

or may never be

no matter what angle

you look

no matter

how hard

you squint

there there

little girl

hang on

don’t give up

on the one that you

can go

searching

hoping

dreaming

yearning

for

you

the one

that was thrown

around

beat down

threatened

frightened

little girl

find your strength

something

no man

no matter

how close to a dad

you feel you have reached

can help you

get closer

to finding

you

it’s within

you must

fight

hang on

little girl

the search has started

Go

Find

Yourself
